The Critical Access Recruitment Services (CARS) is a division of the not for profit Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN). The service is organized for the purpose of providing dedicated medical provider recruitment services to the 50 ICAHN member hospitals. A full time recruiter assists medical professionals in finding opportunities in Illinois critical access hospitals. The CARS Director of Recruitment Services maintains extensive information about opportunities available in Illinois critical access hospitals. We will use your parameters and credentials, including scholarship requirements, to help match you to the perfect practice and community. Your permission will always be obtained before sending your C.V. to a hospital. We will continue to support you through the recruitment process to assure an appropriate match for you and our hospitals.
CARS is directed by an advisory board comprised of participating ICAHN hospital CEO’s and advisors from the SIU School of Medicine, Rural Medical Education Development (RMED) program, RIMSAP (Rural Illinois Medical Student Assistance Program, and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Center for Rural Health.

Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales, NM is looking for Family Medicine Staff. Please see the hospital information as well as contact information.
We are a 24-bed rural acute care hospital with a rural health clinic attached. We currently employ 10 providers. (3 FP, 3 IM, 2 General Surgeons, and 2 mid-levels) We are recruiting 2 FPs and another mid-level provider. We would love to add a pediatrician to the mix but recognize the difficulty of recruiting in peds without OB.
Our FPs join the 6 primary care physicians in call rotation for the hospital and clinic. No OB and no ER. There is one hospitalist on duty every other weekend so the weekend call is one in 12. Our FPs start at $175K with clinic and hospital incentives that can easily add $20 - 50K to earnings. Opportunities also exist for hospitalist and ER coverage if interested.
